Defraud the hangman!! Muirhouse, Edinburgh, Scotland - mansion

Whilst in Edinburgh we stayed in the grounds of 'Muirhouse' our van was over-looked by this spooky mansion, the stable blocks now converted into the camps main reception.  This site was also known to be a prisoner of war camp. Locals believe the grounds are haunted by an evil looking old man, with wild looking eyes and long matted hair. We were lucky enough to have the woodland in the grounds all to ourselves for 4 nights!!

The architect's main contractor was by all accounts a complete rascal, a cheat, a drunkard and a cut throat. Having patriotically cut his own throat and thus dispatching himself, defrauding the hangman!! Maybe it is his shade that wanders round the surrounding property.
